서울시와 커피찌꺼기 수거 재활용 시범사업 실시
서울시는 사회적기업과 함께 민·관협력 커피찌꺼기 재활용 시범사업을 실시한다고 1일 밝혔다. 시범사업은 이디야커피, 커피빈, 탐앤탐스커피, 투썸플레이스, 할리스커피 등 종로구 커피전문점 45개 매장을 대상으로 1일부터 2개월 동안 실시된다. 이들 매장에서 배출되는 커피찌꺼기는 하루 평균 2.5톤에 이른다. 수거된 커피찌꺼기는 버섯재배에 필요한 배지(버섯을 키우기 위한 영양원)의 제조와 친환경 생균 퇴비 및 사료 제조에 활용될 예정이다. 또 커피찌꺼기 수거 시 매장 내에서 발생하는 1회용 종이컵과 플라스틱컵도 수거해 매장 내 환경을 개선한다.서울시는 이번 시범사업을 통해 여러 커피 매장에 산재해 있는 커피찌꺼기를 재활용하는 선순환 모델을 개발 할 계획이다.
